until  formal

(up to; as late as)

  • I have to wait until Wednesday.
  • Don’t come in until I tell you.

 

“Till” and “until” are often used interchangeably in casual conversation and writing.

“Until” is generally considered more formal than “till.” In formal writing, “until” is often preferred.

Both can be used to indicate a point in time up to which something happens.

    • “I will wait until you arrive.”
    • “I will wait till you arrive.”
