ace (someone who is very good at something): He is a computer ace.

acerbic (direct, clever and cruel): Our boss does not hesitate to make acerbic comments to employees who are not doing their jobs.

 

(a dull continuous pain): I had an ache in my lower back last night.

ache (suffer from dull continuous pain): My arms ache from shoveling snow.

 

ache (want something very much): I have been aching to see you soon.

achieve (reach a goal): She eventually achieved her goal of becoming a teacher.
